MANILA - Tropical Depression Goring has left the Philippine area of responsibility after it weakened into a low pressure area, weather bureau PAGASA said Saturday.

Mendoza, meanwhile, said the southwest monsoon continues to affect several areas in Luzon.

Locally known as habagat, this is expected to bring rains over Batanes, the Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales and Bataan. Metro Manila and the remaining parts of Luzon are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rain showers and isolated thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. Meanwhile, PAGASA issued a gale warning where waves as high as 4.5 meters is expected over the northern seaboard of Luzon including Batanes, Babuyan, Calayan, Ilocos Norte and the northern coast of Cagayan.
