MANILA—Rains will persist in parts of Luzon due to the enhanced southwest monsoon or habagat, state weather bureau PAGASA said early Friday.
Weather specialist Gener Quitlong said tropical storm Falcon and a low-pressure area have left the Philippine area of responsibility , but will continue to strengthen the habagat.
Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands will experience moderate to at times heavy rains. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers, while the Visayas and Mindanao will get partly cloudy to cloudy skies with localized thunderstorms.
Falcon, which now carries the international name Danas, was spotted 775 kilometers north-northeast of extreme northern Luzon.The LPA, which is located 350 kilometers west-northwest of extreme northern Luzon, could still develop into a tropical cyclone.
