Neophyte Senator Christopher Lawrence ‘’Bong’’ Go yesterday allayed fears that a nationwide declaration of martial law would take place following the recent spate of killings in Negros Oriental.

Go said President Rodrigo Duterte was a lawyer and knew that martial law could only be declared with reasonable basis. Some senators have confided to the Senate leadership to request Go to be the bridge between the Senate and the President for clarification or explanation on legislative matters.

“Yung apat na pulis walang awang pinaslang po at pinahirapan pa po,” Go said, adding that the safety and welfare of the residents is the primary consideration of the President.
