Flights to Manila diverted, delayed due to thunderstorms

Four international and domestic flights were either delayed or diverted early Tuesday due to heavy rains and thunderstorms experienced at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Base on the MIAA Media Advisory, the flights that were diverted to Clark International Airport were Cebu Pacific flights 5J- 982 from Saigon, and 5J- 754 from Davao while flight 5J- 289 from Canton and a Cebgo flight coming from Cebu were delayed.

The flight from Davao’s original arrival schedule was at 1:35 in Manila. But due to the thunderstorms, it was diverted to Clark before it was able to complete its journey to Manila at 4:27 a.m. The flight from Saigon made it to Manila at 4 a.m. The Manila International Airport Authority General manager Ed Monreal again apologized to all passengers affected.
