At least 40 people were injured by illegal firecrackers in Cavite province during New Year celebrations.
Forty people were reported injured by firecrackers amid the New Year revelries across Cavite province, according to the Cavite Provincial Health Office at General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Medical Hospital in Barangay Luciano here. Provincial health officer Dr. Nelson Soriano noted that most of the fireworks-related injuries occurred at home.
The firecrackers used by the victims included Boga 7 individuals, Kwitis 7, Fountain 6, Whistle Bomb 6, Luces 4, Five Star 3, Piccolo/Sky Rocket 2, Roman Candle/Pill Box 7. Most of the fireworks injuries were reported by the Pagamutang Bayan ng Carmona (5 patients), Tanza Family General Hospital (4), Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital (GEÄMH) (3), Medical Center of Imus, Dasmarinas Medical Center, Ospital ng Tagaytay, Kawit Kalayaan Hospital, Naic Medicare Hospital and CarSiGMA District Hospital (2)
