THE Davao City Water District has assured the public that its fire hydrants remain operational despite the rising number of fires in the city.In a statement during the Davao Peace and Security Press Corps on Wednesday, January 14, 2025, DCWD Spokesperson Jovanna Cresta Duhaylungsod confirmed that the agency regularly performs maintenance and repairs on the fire hydrants to ensure they are ready for emergency use.

DCWD maintains open communication with the BFP-Davao, Central 911, and Fire Volunteer Groups to quickly address any concerns related to fire hydrants and disaster response, ensuring fast and effective action.To further improve hydrant efficiency, Duhaylungsod revealed that a joint task force, led by the local government of Davao City, oversees the proper operation of the hydrants across the city.
