A recent survey by Stratbase and Social Weather Stations (SWS) indicates that while Filipino's perceive their quality of life as improving, the rate of improvement has slightly declined from its recent peak.

A recent survey conducted by Stratbase and Social Weather Stations (SWS) has shed light on the perception of Filipinos regarding their quality of life. The survey, which took place from January 17 to 20, 2025, revealed that 32 percent of respondents felt their quality of life had improved compared to the previous year (classified as 'gainers'), while 25 percent reported a decline (classified as 'losers').

Notably, 43 percent stated that there had been no significant change in their quality of life. The survey's findings indicate a 'high' net gainers score of +7, calculated by subtracting the percentage of 'losers' from the percentage of 'gainers.' While this score is positive, it marks a decline from the 'very high' +13 recorded in December 2024 and September 2024. It aligns more closely with the 'high' +5 observed in March 2024 and December 2023, according to Stratbase-SWS. The survey employed face-to-face interviews with 1,800 registered voters across the Philippines, with a representative sample from Metro Manila, Balance Luzon (Luzon outside Metro Manila), the Visayas, and Mindanao. The survey results also highlighted regional variations in the perception of quality of life. Balance Luzon emerged as the region with the highest net gainers score at a 'very high' +13, followed by Metro Manila at 'high' +9. The Visayas recorded a 'high' +2, while Mindanao registered a 'fair' score. According to Stratbase-SWS, the nationwide decline in the net gainers score from December 2024 to January 2025 was attributed to decreases across all regions except Balance Luzon. The survey also revealed age-related trends, with 18-24-year-olds reporting the highest net gainers score at 'excellent' +34. This was followed by 25-34-year-olds at 'very high' +13, 35-44-year-olds at 'high' +4, 45-54-year-olds at 'high' +2, and those aged 55 and older at 'fair' -2.
