The low-pressure area (LPA) off the West Philippine Sea has left the country’s area of responsibility, but has continued to enhance the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”
According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio, the LPA has left the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday morning en route to China or Vietnam. But the enhanced habagat will continue to bring monsoon rains over Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country. So far, Aurelio said the weather bureau does not expect the formation of an LPA near or within the Philippine area of responsibility in the next few days.Monsoon rains over Central Luzon has benefited the Angat Dam in Bulacan as its water level has consistently increased by at least a meter since weekend.
