A 70-year-old woman died in a fire that hit a two-storey residential building at Diamante Extension in Sta. Ana, Manila Friday morning.

Fire investigators identified the fatality as Helen Alvarez, retired school teacher, resident of the area. She was found at the second floor of the building, where the fire originated.

Investigation showed that the blaze reached first alarm at about 11:48 a.m. and was put out after an hour. No one was reported injured in the fire. Four families were affected, and four houses were damaged in the fire. Fire investigators pegged the estimated worth of damages at about P200,000.
