The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed two major infrastructure projects in the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Sur, totaling P115.5 million. The projects include the asphalting of a key road in Zamboanga Sibugay and the construction of a new road in Zamboanga del Sur, aimed at improving transportation, safety, and economic opportunities for local residents.

The Department of Public Works and Highways ( DPWH ) has successfully completed infrastructure projects valued at P115.5 million in the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Sur. The completed projects encompass a P95.5 million asphalt paving project for the Imelda-Payao-Siay road in Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay , and a P20 million road construction project in Tawagan Norte village, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

\The DPWH-Zamboanga Peninsula reported that the newly paved two-lane road in Payao significantly enhances transportation efficiency, safety, and accessibility for approximately 34,952 residents. Spanning 6.834 lane kilometers with a carriageway width of five meters, the project was funded by P95.5 million from the General Appropriations Act of 2024. The improved road conditions are expected to provide smoother and safer travel, reduce vehicle wear and tear, and stimulate local economic activities by facilitating access to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities. \The asphalt paving project was undertaken by the DPWH Zamboanga Sibugay First District Engineering Office. In Zamboanga del Sur, the DPWH-Zamboanga Peninsula stated that the 2.288-kilometer road construction project in Tawagan Norte village features a road thickness of 0.23 meters and a width of 2.5 meters on each side. This project aims to provide safer and more convenient travel, enhancing access to essential services and economic opportunities for local residents and businesses. The improved connectivity will enable efficient transportation of goods and services, benefiting both individuals and businesses. The DPWH emphasized that this infrastructure project is a step towards promoting economic growth and disaster resilience in Zamboanga del Sur, implemented by the DPWH Zamboanga del Sur First District Engineering Office.
