MIGRANT Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac vowed to seek justice for the overseas Filipino worker who was found dead in Kuwait in late December 2024 after being reported missing for two months. In a television interview on Thursday, January 2, 2025, Cacdac said they will be pushing for the prosecution of the prime suspect in the death of the OFW, who has been working in Kuwait since December 2019.
Last October 16, Filipino domestic worker Dafnie Nacalaban was reported by her employer to have gone missing. It was also last October when Nacalaban last communicated with her family, said Cacdac. In late December, Nacalaban was reportedly found dead in a decomposed state in a Kuwaiti national’s backyard. The Department of Migrant Workers said investigation is still underway regarding the case of Nacalaban.
