The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will conduct mock polls on January 25 in 30 barangays across the country to assess its automated election system (AES) preparations for the May 2025 national, local, and Bangsamoro parliamentary polls.

WITH just over 100 days before the May 2025 national, local, and Bangsamoro parliamentary polls, the Commission on Elections is set to hold on Saturday, January 25, the mock polls in 30 barangays across the country. In a phone interview, Comelec Spokesman John Rex Laudiangco said the conduct of the mock polls is in order to provide the poll body the chance to assess its automated election system preparations.

9369, the conduct of mock elections is one of the requirements by the Technical Evaluation Committee before issuing its certification that the AES is operating properly, securely, and accurately. Selected as Metro Manila venues of the mock polls are Barangays San Pedro and Sta Ana in Pateros; Ususan and Pinagsama in Taguig City; and First District Barangay Poblacion and Pio del Pilar in Makati City.
