Bais City in Negros Oriental donated P1 million to Canlaon City to support residents displaced by the Kanlaon Volcano eruption on December 9, 2024. Bais City Mayor Luigi Marcel Goñi handed over the check to Canlaon City Mayor Jose Chubasco Cardenas during a visit. The Bais City government also called on other LGUs, organizations, and individuals to contribute to the relief efforts. Meanwhile, the Canlaon City government assured the public that the evacuation was purely humanitarian and based on safety protocols.

BACOLOD CITY – The Bais City government in Negros Oriental has donated P1 million to the Canlaon City government for residents displaced by the Kanlaon Volcano eruption last Dec. 9.

In a Facebook post, the Bais city government called on other local government units, private organizations, and individuals to extend their support and solidarity to Kanlaon victims during this challenging time. Meanwhile, the Canlaon City government said no residents were detained during the evacuation after Alert Level 3 was raised over Kanlaon Volcano.
