CARCAR City in Cebu and Bais City in Negros Oriental were declared winners in the Sinulog Grand Parade and Ritual Showdown in the Sinulog-Based and Free Interpretation categories, respectively, held at the Cebu City Sports Center on Sunday, January 19, 2025.Carcar City also won the street dancing competition while Bais City ranked third in the said category.

Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) head Raquel Arce emphasizes that the ordinance applies to both locals and foreigners, with violators facing fines or community service. While the number of mendicants in the city is reportedly lower compared to previous years, some have relocated to neighboring cities. CCTO personnel receive reports on mendicant presence and forward them to the anti-mendicancy task force for action. The Cebu City Anti-Mendicancy Office (Ccamo) is actively conducting an information drive to ensure the public understands the seriousness of the anti-mendicancy law.
