MANILA, Philippines: The Ateneo Blue Eagles fended off the Adamson Lady Falcons' fightback, 25-19, 25-19, 22-25, 25-23, at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday, March 13 to end their two-game skid in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament.Lyann De Guzman racked up 22 points, nine excellent digs, and eight receptions to lead Ateneo which improved to 2-4, tied with Adamson at 5th and 6th places.
Sobe Buena aided De Guzman with 21 markers including the clincher while also adding 10 digs to her name.AC Miner and Zel Tsunashima pumped 10 and nine points, respectively, for Ateneo which surrendered a 20-12 lead in the third set, paving the way for the Adamson comeback.Buena, however, came through with clutch hits to prevent a decider and give the Blue Eagles the victory.Lucille Almonte and Ishie Lalongisip fired 11 points each to pace the Lady Falcons.
