A TOTAL of 30 loose firearms were surrendered to the government by individuals in a town in Zamboanga del Sur through the Small Arms and Light Weapons Management Program of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity .Colonel Eddie Pilapil, 102nd Infantry Brigade acting commander, said the loose firearms were surrendered by residents of the town of Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur on Friday, February 28, 2025.
He said that as part of the SLAW program, individuals who surrendered their firearms will receive access to livelihood programs, ensuring their transition into productive, law-abiding citizens is supported and sustainable.
