Nearly 200 police officers from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 7 and the Cebu Provincial Mobile Force Company were deployed to Negros Oriental to ensure tight security ahead of the upcoming elections. The officers will also assist in disaster response efforts. The deployment aims to guarantee free and fair elections by deterring threats and intimidation.

NEARLY 200 police officers from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 7 and the Cebu Provincial Mobile Force Company were deployed by the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas to Negros Oriental on Friday, January 31, 2025, to ensure tight security ahead of the upcoming elections. They will also assist in disaster response efforts when needed.The send-off ceremony took place at the PRO 7 headquarters at Camp Sergio Osmeña Sr.

Maranan also urged the deployed officers to stay vigilant and safe while performing their duties as law enforcers, expressing hope that they would all return safely to Cebu.The 200 officers are divided into 100 from RMFB-7 and 100 from PMFC, each with their respective tasks. The RMFB will be responsible for anti-criminality checkpoints, while the PMFC will focus on evacuation and humanitarian efforts in Canlaon.
