BACOLOD CITY – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office has introduced a mobile application to enhance the real-time monitoring of checkpoints in the May 12 elections.

Comelec provincial head Ian Lee Ananoria, Brig. Gen. Ted Dumosmog, commander of the Army 303rd Infantry Brigade, Police Col. Roland Bulalacao, chief of the regional staff of the Police Regional Office -Western Visayas, and Police Col. Rainerio de Chavez, Negros Occidental police director, led simultaneous checkpoint operations in the province on the Talisay City highway.

Police were briefed on the Comelec guidelines for checkpoint operations to ensure the effective implementation of election-related security measures. The Bacolod City Police Office headed by Police Col. Joeresty Coronica and Comelec-Bacolod head Revo Sorbito also joined the checkpoints on Banago Road here.

Police noted that checkpoint operations here are crucial to enforce the Comelec gun ban that seeks to prevent election-related violence and ensure a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
