The City Government of Bacolod is considering setting up a Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service (BUCAS) center in Barangay Alijis and Barangay Vista Alegre to cater to minor admissions and alleviate pressure on city hospitals.

The City Government of Bacolod is now considering using the midway referral facility in Barangay Alijis and the temporary treatment and monitoring facility (TMMF) in Barangay Vista Alegre as the Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service (BUCAS) center. Mae Cuaycong, Special Assistant to the Mayor, said yesterday the city is now trying to collaborate with the Department of Health (DOH) and the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital ( CLMMRH ) to open a BUCAS center.

She said the Department of Health (DOH)- Negros Island Region (NIR) already inspected the two facilities to see if they can convert it to be used as a BUCAS center. BUCAS center is a big help to the Bacolnons in catering to the patients, she added. Cuaycong noted that personnel from DOH and CLMMRH will be assigned to the center. Cuaycong said the BUCAS center will cater to the minor admission. BUCAS center will also de-clog the city's hospitals, she said. She added the DOH-NIR will submit its report to the Mayor and it's up to the mayor to decide on the improvement of the facilities
