In 2022, Volvo introduced the EX90, a modern and software-defined SUV, as the successor to its flagship model, the Volvo XC90. Despite initial plans to produce the vehicle in the United States and China for a global release, production complications delayed its launch. Recently, Volvo unveiled the EX90 in Thailand with two performance options: a standard all-wheel-drive model and a 'Performance' variant offering an extra 100 horsepower for an additional fee.
Both models share a 111kWh battery and dual motor system, achieving a top speed of 180kph and a maximum driving range of about 600km. The standard EX90 model delivers 402 horsepower and 770Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-100kph in 5.9 seconds. The 'Performance' variant cuts this time by a second, accelerating from 0-100kph in 4.9 seconds, delivering 510 horsepower and 910Nm of torque. The vehicles are designed with Scandinavian comfort in mind, including a 14.5-inch screen, though not as prominent as those on Tesla or recent BYD models.
