” While his good looks – a dead ringer for young Richard Gomez and Gab Valenciano – could easily be his ticket to the world of show business, Arion’s focus is firmly on the track. He’s currently exploring opportunities that come his way, but his main priority is training and making a name for himself in kart racing.Arion aims to be the first Filipino to race in the prestigious Formula 1 “I’m excited to get my driver’s license,” Arion admits with a smile, hinting at his eagerness for future independence. “But for now, I don’t mind being behind the wheel competing.” This April, Arion will be making his international debut, racing alongside the prestigious Resultado Racing Team in Pattaya, Thailand. According to Arion, joining the team is an important step in his young career, and he hopes to use his platform to revive interest in kart racing within the Philippines.“I believe the sport can teach valuable lessons about discipline and focus to young people. I started kart racing when I was five years old,” Arion says. “It’s helped me develop a sense of caution and focus, which is important not only on the track but also in life. It also teaches me how to manage my time between studying and training.” Arion’s commitment is evident. He recently relocated to the Philippines from the United States and balances his studies as an eighth grader with rigorous training. And his dedication has paid off. In 2023, he was named the International Junior Karter of the Year, solidifying his status as a top talent.“Winning this award was a dream come true,” Arion says. “It required a lot of hard work, and I’m grateful for the support of my family, team, sponsors, and fans.” Arion’s impressive list of achievements includes consecutive wins at the Rotax Max Challenge Philippine Series. His dedication and talent have earned him the respect of his peers and a growing fan base. “I’m proud to have Arion on the team,” says Resultado Racing Team Principal and Owner Theo Zaragoza. “Winning the next race is a strong possibility. Arion is very focused and disciplined.”Inspired by Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, Arion dreams of following in his footsteps. He aspires to see more facilities built in the Philippines to give young people a chance to experience the excitement of kart racing, a sport that enjoyed immense popularity in the ‘80s and ‘90s.s Arion’s ultimate goal? “I’m aiming to be the first Filipino to reach Formula 1,” he declares confidently.
