Zelenskyy to sign security pledges at EU summit

PARIS – Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy will attend Thursday’s European Union summit in Brussels where he is expected to sign an agreement on EU security commitments for Ukraine, the French president’s office said.

Like the other security pacts signed by Ukraine, this EU agreement is meant to firm up support for the future. Russia’s defense ministry said in a statement Belousov and Austin had “exchanged views on the situation around Ukraine”, noting the conversation took place “at the initiative of the American side”.
