‘Hidden Musical Treasures of the Italian Baroque’ promises an evening of exceptional Filipino artistry and Western classical musicHighlighting its shared commitment to the arts, Y Space at the Yuchengco Museum, in partnership with the National Music Competitions for Young Artists , brings together exceptional Filipino talents for a night of music and art.
Celebrate the richness of Filipino talent as world-renowned Filipina sopranos Andion Fernandez-Ching and Camille Lopez-Molina take the stage for “Hidden Musical Treasures of the Italian Baroque” on August 20, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. They will be accompanied by a string quartet under the musical direction of Dr. Renato Lucas. The performance will also include a musicological commentary by Maestro Jeffrey Ching.
Andion’s career highlights include accolades at the Operalia International Opera Competition and the Cardiff Singer of the World competition. She has performed key roles in iconic operas such as “Le nozze di Figaro,” “Carmen,” and “Die Zauberflöte,” collaborating with distinguished conductors like Alberto Zedda and Kent Nagano.
