A war of words has occurred between Synlait and A2 Milk after Synlait shares halved in the past six weeks.
Synlait said there was reduced demand for infant formula and base powder production from one of its customers with the company later admitting it was A2 milk.
A2 Milk responded saying it’s surprised about the extent of Synlait’s downgrade, believing there is no material change in its outlook for this financial year.

Anzac Day tradition has ‘changed over many years’ as recent veterans are includedThe tradition of Anzac Day has “changed over many years” as commemorations include the recent war veterans of Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and peacekeeping operations, says Australian War Memorial’s Head of Military History, Dr Karl James. “It’s just a really good time to think and reflect on what it means to be an Australian as well as serve and reflect on the service and sacrifice,” Dr James told Sky News Australia. “This place {Australian War Memorial} commemorates over 103,000 Australians who have died in war and war-like operations – 62,000 from the First World War, about 40,000 from the Second World War, as well as post-45 service.' He said out of the nearly one million Australians who served in World War Two, it’s believed “only about 5,000” of those veterans are still alive today.

We’re ‘nowhere near ready’: War now ‘much, much less’ than a decade awayThe Albanese government has released the unclassified version of a new defence strategy, which confirms Australia is in “huge trouble,” according to Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “We used to think we could see a war coming our way a decade ahead of it – Now, we’ve got much, much less time,” Mr Bolt said. He said China could “strangle us” with the navy blockade while the Defence Strategic Review makes it clear that Australia is “nowhere near ready”. “It's a bit like Australians still really don't believe there could be a war, or if there was a war, we could somehow sit it out, or if we did sit it out, the world, it would still tick along as usual,” Mr Bolt said. “Or maybe the bottom line is this: That we have spent so insanely much on ourselves for so long and run up such a massive deficit, got so lazy and comfortable, that there's simply now not the dollars left to defend us.”
