“On April 5, 2023, Najmil’s consent judgment was recorded, and he has apologised and agreed to retract this statement ‘... she’s trying to instil fear in the public that Islamic leadership supports underage marriage’,” Yeoh said in a statement today.
Najmil also took to Twitter to announce that he had apologised, before adding that he and Yeoh had reached an amicable resolution to the suit. “Me and YB Hannah Yeoh have agreed to an amicable solution following her lawsuit against me. I apologise for what I said and I’d like to retract the things I said about her,” he posted on Twitter.
