University of the East fencers Sophia Catantan, Aubrey Fernandez, Willa Galvez and Alyzabeth Gilbert captured the gold medal in women's under-17 foil team event while Nina Canlas won her second individual gold medal in day two of the 1st Burlington Inter-Club International Fencing Challenge on Thursday, July 26, at the Alabang Town Center in Muntinlupa City.

Less than a month after winning the gold medal in the All-Women's meet organized by the Philippine Sports Commission , the Red Warriors dominated nearly the same joint team of Calle de Armas and Republic Fencing with a masterful 45-26 victory in the final match.Catantan scored 20 points, while Fernandez – the team's anchor – collected 15 points and Galvez, the youngest on the team as she turned 12 last July 16, added 10 points as the team's third fencer.

Later in the evening, Canlas won her third gold medal as she helped UE bag the title in women's under-17 team epee with Irish Manaqois, Juliana Jimenez and Fernandez against Faith Olemos, Chiara dela Cruz, Sophia Carig and Martina Bacay of Oblation Fencing, 45-29.
