The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday confirmed that two more overseas Filipinos have contracted COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) while another one has recovered.
No new fatality among Filipinos abroad was reported in the latest tally released by the foreign affairs office.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 15,876. Of this total, 5,281 are undergoing treatment, 9,554 have recovered and 1,041 died since the outbreak started in February last year. The Middle East and Africa remain as the combined region with the most number in terms of total confirmed cases , undergoing treatment , recoveries , and death .
“The DFA personnel in our Foreign Service Posts remain steadfast in partnering with local health authorities and commit to tirelessly attending to the needs of our people, whenever possible,” the Department said in a statement.
