The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) is set to file on Monday a petition seeking to increase the minimum wage in Central Visayas, as part of its efforts to hike pays in most regions of the country.
According to TUCP Vice President Luis Corral, the TUCP will file a motion to increase the minimum wage in Region 7 by P200 from its current level of P400, but the final petition will still be finalized.
“Ang pag-file ng wage petition ay hindi dahil sa Ukraine-Russia. Hindi po ito dahil lang dun sa pagtaas sa presyo ng krudo na artipisyal na naman nilang ibabagsak next week,” he said in a report on GMA’s “24 Oras Weekend” on Sunday.Moving forward, the TUCP said it will file petitions for increases in the minimum wages across nearly all regions in the Philippines.on Tuesday alone.
