The Toyota Supra is getting a power boost in its final year of production in the Philippines. The updated model arrives with a more powerful engine and chassis refinements, making it a fitting send-off for the iconic sports car.

The Toyota Supra , officially known as the GR Supra , is nearing its end with production slated to cease after 2025. The revived model, a collaboration with BMW, enjoyed a six-year production run since its 2019 debut, ending a 17-year hiatus. Toyota Motor Philippines is commemorating the Supra 's farewell with a special treat for the local market. After nearly three years, the updated and more powerful version of the Supra is finally available in the Philippines.

Previously, the Philippine-market Supra featured a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine generating 335hp and 500Nm of torque. While not slow by any means, enthusiasts yearned for the more potent variant available in other markets. The 2025 model year sees a power bump to 382hp, aligning the Philippine version with the rest of the world. Torque remains at 500Nm. According to the manufacturer, this upgrade reduces the 0 to 100kph acceleration time from 4.1 seconds to a brisk 3.9 seconds. The sole transmission option is an eight-speed automatic.Beyond the power enhancements, the new Supra receives chassis refinements. These include added front stiffening, a revised set of springs and dampers, and new tuning for both the steering and differential. These changes are expected to further improve handling and track performance. While these upgrades are commendable, the question remains: will Toyota Philippines introduce the true final edition? The Toyota Supra Final Edition boasts an even more potent version of the inline-six engine, pushing power to 429hp and 569Nm of torque, satisfying even the most demanding driving enthusiasts. It also features lightening, strengthening, and a comprehensive suite of suspension upgrades, along with a distinctive carbon fiber wing at the rear. While the Final Edition's arrival in the Philippines seems unlikely, a glimmer of hope remains. The Supra's legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire and captivate drivers long after production ends
