Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. rolls off the proudly Philippine-made next-generation Tamaraw commercial vehicle, unveiling a new conversion facility at its manufacturing plant and headquarters in Laguna.
Built on Toyota’s International Multi-Purpose Vehicle 0 platform, the Tamaraw aims to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises while offering versatility and durability. The TMP Conversion Factory is a regional breakthrough, capable of customizing Tamaraw units into three body styles—dropside, utility van, and aluminum van—with gas and diesel engine options.
The Tamaraw’s local production is also generating upstream benefits, as TMP’s suppliers—including new and returning parts-makers—have invested P500 million in plant expansions and equipment procurement.
