Tourism stakeholders’ call: More focused marketing, infra, relaxed visa policy

He stressed that “The DOT needs a multipronged approach, combining marketing with infrastructural improvements, to significantly increase tourist arrivals and meet its ambitious 8.4-million target this year.” He encouraged the DOT to “collaborate with private tourism stakeholders and airlines to create attractive packages and improve service quality. Special promotional airfares within the Philippines will also help.”

Alfred Lay, Director for Hotels, Tourism of Leechiu Property Consultants , echoed Shroff, saying, “I’m hopeful in the New Year the government can consider easing visa hurdles to Chinese tourists and therefore meaningfully increasing our arrivals.
