Amen Thompson's stellar performance with a triple-double powered the Houston Rockets to a 135-131 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Thompson's key rebounds and timely points sealed the win and completed the season sweep for Houston.

Amen Thompson delivered key late rebounds and points as part of his triple-double performance, propelling the visiting Houston Rockets to a 135-131 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, completing the regular-season sweep of their opponents. Although Houston never trailed after seizing the lead midway through the first quarter, Cleveland valiantly clawed back from a 19-point deficit, ultimately forcing a tie with 1:51 remaining in regulation.

Alperen Sengun, who tied Jalen Green for a team-high 26 points, found himself at the free-throw line with the score level. After sinking the first shot, his second attempt rimmed out. However, the Cavaliers' players vying for the rebound could not prevent it from going out of bounds. Sengun missed another shot in the key, but Thompson was there to capitalize with a putback dunk, extending the Rockets' lead to three points.Donovan Mitchell, who erupted for 25 of his 33 points in the second half, drew a foul while attempting a 3-pointer on the ensuing possession but missed the front end of his three free-throw attempts. Thompson entered the paint on the next possession with Houston holding a narrow 127-126 advantage, forcing a foul on Evan Mobley. Thompson's subsequent free throws effectively sealed the victory for the Rockets as Cleveland failed to get any closer in the remainder of the game, marking the Cavaliers' first three-game losing streak of the season. Thompson finished with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists, achieving his second career triple-double. He was one of four Houston starters to score at least 20 points, with Fred VanVleet adding 20. All of VanVleet's six successful field-goal attempts came from nine 3-point attempts.Cleveland's Darius Garland led all scorers with 39 points and dished a team-high nine assists in the defeat. Georges Niang came off the bench to contribute 21 points, and Max Strus finished with 14 points and nine rebounds for the Cavaliers. The victory marked Houston's second triumph over Cleveland in consecutive games, having previously defeated them on Wednesday in Texas. Saturday's contest was the first in a four-game road swing for the Rockets
