The 2025 model also gets some style tweaks...including a light-up kidney grille
Just when we thought we were getting used to the monstrous kidneys on the iX, BMW goes and changes them with a mid-life facelift. Although actually, at first glance we thought that the new front end was a little bit more friendly than before, with more body color on the bumpers, less aggressive air intakes, blocky LED headlights, and simple straight lines in the kidneys.
The rest of the range has also been renamed to reflect a jump in performance, with the iX xDrive45 getting 402hp and the iX xDrive60 M Sport a healthy 537hp. Both of those are electronically limited to 200kph. BMW says the jumps in power come from a fine-tuning of the drive system, and of course, all versions get a motor on the front and rear axles for an AWD configuration.
To deal with the extra power and the increase in weight from bigger batteries, BMW has fitted the updated iX with a hydraulic rear-axle support bearing. The M70 also gets adaptive air suspension with ride level control, M-specific suspension tuning, electronically controlled shock absorbers, different anti-roll bars, a beefier braking system, and rear-wheel steering.
