The Philippine Pediatric Society says it supports this move which it had been pushing even prior to the start of the immunization program for minors with existing medical conditions.
The local government also welcomed non-residents to register for vaccination, provided they are attending a school in the city.
[Translation: Parents will have to present validation that their children are enrolled in schools in the city in order for registration to push through.] They said walk-ins are not allowed, and parents need to register their children through the city's Trace App or with the barangay health center.The Health department said it intends to inoculate 80% of the pediatric population by the end of the year.
So far, only minor side effects have been recorded following the vaccination of adolescents with existing medical conditions, according to Gimenez.
