At least 150 sheep have perished and thousands of hectares of land have been burnt, but fire crews have managed to protect properties and people's lives as fires in the South West burn for a third day.

Residents in the affected areas of Noggerup, Glen Mervyn, Mumballup and Yabberup, however, are being urged to remain on high alert.More than 150 sheep are reported to have perished and authorities are still assessing the extent of stock losses. Nathan Perry managed to move his small but valuable herd of Highland cows from near Donnybrook, where the fire was raging late on Tuesday."This is about 10 years of work getting the cows to where we are.
