MANILA, Philippines: Japan said worrisome incidents in the South China Sea is a 'legitimate concern' of the international community as 21 countries supported the Philippines in calling out China's aggressive actions in the region.The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday said Tokyo 'believes that the issue concerning the South China Sea is directly related to the peace and stability of the region and is a legitimate concern of the international community.
'Japan said it has consistently advocated 'upholding the rule of law' at sea, and will continue to cooperate with the international community such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the US to protect the free and open international order based on the rule of law.The Embassy of South Korea in Manila said the use of water cannons 'raised tensions and is detrimental to maintaining peace, stability, safety and rules-based maritime order in the South China Sea.
