MANILA, Philippines: Defending champion San Miguel Beer guns for its second straight win when it faces TNT in the main game of the Season 48 PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
The Beermen tangle with the Tropang Giga in the main game at 6:30 p.m., following the match between Phoenix and Rain or Shine .SMB coach Jorge Gallent said regardless of which team the Beermen face, they simply need to come out with the energy and not simply be complacent.'All teams have stepped up. I'm sure they practiced a lot. They prepared for this conference,' Gallent said, noting how other teams like NorthPort, NLEX and even Blackwater have had a good start for the conference.
'To be very honest, I don't think we are at the level of big boys yet. We just wanted to be competitive versus other teams, without a fully healthy, 100 percent lineup, it's gonna be very hard for us to match up against big, talented deep teams like San Miguel,' shared Reyes. 'So it is incumbent for us to be very smart in practice.' Meanwhile, Phoenix will be shooting for its second straight win against an injury-riddled ROS in the first game.
