A young child travelling in New South Wales' south-west has died in a single-vehicle crash, while the driver and second passenger were taken to hospital.

NSW Police said the boy was travelling in a car in the state's Murray River Region on Thursday when the accident struck at 12pm.

Emergency services raced to Moulamein Road - about 110km north-west of Deniliquin - after the vehicle had"rolled". A six-year old boy has died following a single-vehicle crash in the Murray River Region.The other passenger - a four-year-old boy - was treated by paramedics before being flown to Melbourne Children’s hospital.

NSW Police confirmed on Friday morning the car was a Toyota Hilux which had suffered"significant damage" after the crash. "Officers attached to Murray River Police District attended and located a Toyota Hilux with significant damage," NSW Police said in a statement. A crime scene was established and an investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
