Last spotted 795 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan, the weather disturbance was packing winds of 55 kilometers per hour , gustiness of up to 70 kph, and is moving west-southwestward at 10 kph.The effects of Neneng, particularly light to moderate with at times heavy rains, may be felt over Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Apayao, Kalinga, and Ilocos Norte as early as Saturday morning, Oct. 15.

The state weather bureau likewise added that Neneng is expected to “further intensify” while traversing the Philippine sea, adding that it may still make landfall or “pass very close” in Babuyan Islands or Batanes on Sunday, Oct. 16.
