The Philippines has already made some big purchases in recent years, including a $375 million deal for BrahMos cruise missiles from India. They have also signed several big contracts with South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries, including for a pair of Jose Rizal-class frigates which are already in service, as well as six offshore patrol vessels and two missile corvettes which will be delivered over the next several years.
