If all goes according to plan, we won't have to worry about 'no-mow May,' we just have to worry about it being 'no-grow May' with an early summer deadline loomingSheldon MacLeod and his family are hoping to have the backyard restored to its summer glory in time for a special family event there this June.A good friend of mine once had a fantastic answer that has stuck with me.
Timing, as they say, is everything, and we were facing a deadline if we wanted to get things green again in time for the reception. I don’t know if you’ve ever called a landscaping and gardening company in the spring, but to say this is their busy season is a bit of an understatement. And there still isn’t a guarantee — just a plan to do whatever it takes to give us the best possible chance of a backyard that isn’t all just mud and moss.
But life is a lot like that too. You can only plan to deal with the issues that are in front of you today. There’s no way you can have a contingency for every conceivable scenario and there’s always the chance there are other issues that you haven’t even imagined. Hungry skunks and a great crop of June Bug larvae certainly put us in a spot this spring.
