STORY CONTINUES BELOW THESE SALTWIRE VIDEOSLizette Jane Dennis, 29, will be sentenced on three counts of breaching court orders, two counts of uttering threats, two counts of assault, and single counts of assault with a weapon, mischief and assaulting a police officer. Several other offences were dismissed.
Some of the charges relate to an incident in October 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital from where Fraser is alleged to have a stolen a vehicle that was occupied by a male who was unable to drive or walk. The vehicle was tracked to the Beechmont Road area from where Fraser was arrested. The unsuspecting male passenger was unharmed.He is also scheduled to be sentenced May 4 on the charges of evading police, possession of stolen property and two counts of mischief.
He is to have a provincial court trial Sept. 13 on two counts of uttering threats, theft, resisting arrest and trespassing at night. He is also scheduled on that date to have a preliminary hearing on the kidnapping charge.Dana Alexander Smith, 35, will be sentenced on two counts of breaching court orders and single counts of theft under $5,000 , theft over $5,000 , and assault.
The Crown informed the court it was not proceeding with the prosecution because of problems with scheduled witnesses and other concerns.Daniel Peter Whalen, 46, of Hillside Road, plead guilty to charges of possession of illicit cannabis and possession of cocaine. A third charge of possession of illicit cannabis for the purpose of selling was dismissed.He was charged after police seized some four pounds of marijuana, and two grams of cocaine on May 12, 2022, in Framboise.
