Senator Imee Marcos inducted the officers of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd), led by its president Eugene Asis of People’s Journal, at the Kamuning Bakery Café on Thursday, October 14. READ:
Senator Marcos is a staunch supporter of the local film industry who has produced a number of monumental films like Oro, Plata, Mata and Himala under Experimental Cinema of the Philippines. Recently, the senator also co-produced the controversial hit film, Maid in Malacañang, which is now making the rounds of the European theater circuit, after its Middle East, Canada and US tour.

The entertainment editors group, which started as a social club, has also extended its efforts to scholarship and reach-out programs, and annually gives awards to deserving film actors and artists through its Eddys Awards, slated this year in November.
Aside from Asis, the officers of SPEEd include External Vice President, Tessa Mauricio Ariola , Internal Vice President, Salve Asis , Treasurer, Dondon Sermino , Assistant Treasurer, Dinah Ventura , Auditor, Rohn Romulo Secretary, Maricris Nicasio , Assistant Secretary, Gerardine Fe ‘Gie ‘Trillana , PROs, Nickie Wang and Ervin Santiago , Board Members, Rito Asilo , Neil Ramos , Dindo Balares , and Jerry Olea , with advisers Nestor Cuartero and Ian Farinas .
