SOCIAL media platform LYKA has sought the intercession of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. so that it can operate in the Philippines again.LYKA Philippines CEO Ryan Baird said they are seeking the assistance of the Office of the President with regards to the registration of a local affiliate with the Securities and Exchange Commission .The company assured users and partners that it is exploring all legal means to be able to resume operations in the country.
On July 23, 2021, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas issued a circular ordering LYKA to 'cease and desist from performing cash-in service, merchant accreditation and settlement process among others' until it properly registers as an OPS.
