In August, the Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival returns to Deer Lake Park with free admission.
“The Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival is one of the most exciting events that we host in Burnaby,” said Mayor Mike Hurley. “By removing ticket fees we’re ensuring that everyone in our community will have the chance to come down to Deer Lake Park and enjoy a fantastic day of music with friends and family.”
Over the event’s 22 year run, it has hosted everyone from legends like Robert Cray and Smokey Robinson to beloved local Colin James and rock and pop acts such as Feist and the War on Drugs. The full lineup will be announced later in the spring, including volunteer opportunities for those who might want to help out for a fine community event. Our in-depth journalism is possible thanks to the support of our subscribers.
