The Salvation Army in Glace Bay will be set up in the parking lot of the Canadian Tire on Reserve Street for a community toy drive event on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.is hosting a community toy drive event in the Canadian Tire parking lot on Reserve Street on Saturday.
The goal of the event is to fill the back of two Salvation Army vehicles with toys for children and families in need. “We are looking forward to connecting with the community,” says Capt. Keith Barrett, who leads The Salvation Army in Glace Bay alongside his wife, Capt. Charlene Barrett. “All the toys will be going to families and children in need, so it’s for a great cause."
Hot beverages and snacks will be provided, and community members can stop by and drop off toys to support the cause.Toy donations can also be dropped off at The Salvation Army at 40 Union St., Glace Bay, throughout December.902-304-8598It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
