MANILA, Philippines — Russian spiker Marina Tushova stamped her class in Philippine volleyball after breaking the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) scoring record three times.
MANILA, Philippines — Russian spiker Marina Tushova stamped her class in Philippine volleyball after breaking the Premier Volleyball League scoring record three times. After her stint in the PVL 2024 Reinforced Conference, the 25-year-old spiker will not only remember the memory of making history in the country — but she will now always remember to smile. Growing up in Russia, Tushova was told to suppress her emotions and refrain from smiling.
'You know we have war in our country, most of the money goes there, and I am so sad about it. You know we cannot enjoy our life...there are some people living with the bombs every day,' Tushova told The Manila Times. The spirited Tushova continued and shared that she is in charge of her life. 'My future depends on me. I know that I can choose what I want. I can enjoy volleyball more, and play for people. This part is what I enjoy here.
