Paris Olympian Joanie Delgaco couldn't be more proud to represent the Philippines in the grandest way possible.While at the Vaires-Sur-Marne Nautical Stadium in France for her Olympic debut in the women's single sculls, Delgaco learned new things that made her even more inspired to strive further. “It is the inspiration of the Olympic Games that drives people not only to compete but to improve,” Delgaco wrote in her Instagram post Thursday, Aug. 29.Delgaco also stressed how significant it was to witness the pure grit of her fellow athletes in Paris.Delgaco's dedication led her to great things in life.
With her second-place outing in Final D of her event, Delgaco received an offer for an Olympic Solidarity scholarship from FISA development head Daniela Gomes. The pride of Iriga, Camarines Sur wrapped up her Paris campaign as 20th place overall while being the No. 1 and 2 rower in the SEA region and Asia, respectively.
