Joanie Delgaco made sure to have a strong exit in her maiden Olympic appearance after clocking her best time in the competition with seven minutes and 43.82 seconds to finish second in Final D and 20th overall in the women’s single sculls event in the 2024 Paris Games at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium.

Behind the big and strong strokes, Delgaco rallied back in the second half of the 2000-meter race after falling behind by as low as the fifth spot through the first 1000m. She mustered all of her might with another big push but Alejandra Alonso Alderete of Paraguay did enough to protect her lead and finish one second ahead of Delgaco with her time of 7:42.09 and claim the 19th spot overall.
