For Millenials, the top reasons to start a side job were to deal with the rising cost of living , to be less reliant on a single source of income and to have a financial safety net . Meanwhile, the inflation rate was 7 per cent in the March quarter, down from a 30 year high of 7.8 per cent in the December quarter.
The cost of living crisis comes at the same time as a housing crisis is playing out across Australia, with renters sleeping in cars and caravan parks and aged pensioners turning to camping stoves and candles to keep a lid on costs.
